70% of ransomware attacks in recent years targeted SMBs
Small and midsize businesses in the U.S. are facing unprecedented cybersecurity risks and challenges. While large enterprises often have dedicated security teams and big budgets, SMBs (with under $25M in revenue, our target segment) typically operate with minimal IT staff and limited security expertise. Unfortunately, attackers have taken notice. Nearly half of cyberattacks (43%) are now aimed at small businesses, yet only 14% of those businesses consider themselves prepared to defend against such attacks . This vulnerability is exacerbated by the fact that a successful breach can be devastating for an SMB – studies show that downtime from attacks (even a single incident causing over 8 hours of downtime) can inflict major financial harm . Additionally, 83% of small and medium businesses are not financially or operationally prepared to recover from a cyber attack’s damages , and most lack cyber insurance or incident response plans. These statistics underscore a critical need: SMBs require affordable, effective cybersecurity services to survive in today’s threat landscape.
